Birth of IDF Constitution

A clear and transparent constitution is the foundation of any organization that articulates the purpose and function of the organization, detailing the procedures for its orderly and seamless function. The by-laws establish the specific rules of guidance that govern the activities and actions in the organization. It should have the basic structure and methods of operation in writing. It was a great privilege and honour for me and Dr. C. G. Suresh to have been asked and entrusted by the founding members of IDF to draft the IDF constitution along with the upholding principles.

While serious discussions were going on during the formation of IDF, a constitution was mandatory not only for the strong functioning of IDF, it was an essential pre-requisite also for the registration and recognition of IDF by the Indian Embassy in Kuwait. Dr. C. G. Suresh, and I were entrusted with the task of preparing the same by the Founder President, Dr. Narayan Nampoory. We took up the task with great fervor, zeal and sincerity. There were many days of discussions and deliberations between us before reaching the final draft. We acknowledge many organizations in Kuwait for their inputs, suggestions and ideas that helped in this endeavour. I am sure our constitution has provided a beacon of guidance and proven to be a pillar of strength to the members, office bearers and executive members. We hope that it has stood the test of time with full honour, and respect through ensuing years via various amendments arrived and elections conducted democratically, handing over taking place smoothly and carrying out of IDF activities as per the mechanisms and guiding principles.
